The Films We Install 3M and NAR paint protection film in Boca Raton — and the film we refuse to fit

We install two paint protection films and we name both of them on every quote: 3M Scotchgard Pro Series 200 at Signature, NAR H190 at Essential. Both are self-healing TPU. Both carry a manufacturer warranty. Nothing outside those two goes on a customer's paint.

Two tiers, one standard

Same bay.
Same hands.

The tier changes the film on the roll and the number on the invoice. It never changes how the car is prepped or who lays the film.

Signature tier

Why we
install 3M.

3M has been engineering adhesive films for decades, and 3M Scotchgard Pro Series 200 is the flagship of that line: a self-healing TPU topcoat over a urethane core, formulated to stay clear rather than to hit a price.

What you are really buying at this tier is the paper behind the film. 3M writes the warranty itself — up to 10 years on the product — and 3M is the company a claim in year eight lands on. A film warranty is only ever worth as much as the manufacturer standing behind it, which is the whole argument for the Signature tier.

It is the tier we recommend for a car you intend to keep. Full Front in 3M is $2,150; the complete table is on the pricing page, and the coverage options are explained under paint protection film.

Why we also
offer NAR.

NAR H190 is the same class of material, not a step down into a cheaper one: a self-healing 7.5-mil TPU with an elastomeric topcoat that pulls its own light swirls back out with heat, and a 10-year film warranty from the maker.

The honest difference is what you pay for the name on the core. Full Front is $1,900 in NAR against $2,150 in 3M. We do not keep that gap — it comes off your invoice, which is the only reason to carry a second film at all.

Everything else is identical: same plotter patterns, same decontamination and paint inspection, same installer, same bay, and the same 1-year SERRES installation warranty on the work.

Consumer protection

Why we refuse
cheap film.

Not a swipe at any installer. A material difference you cannot see on the roll, and cannot undo once it is on your paint.

Three layers,
one invisible skin.

A real paint protection film is a precision-engineered stack — a sacrificial self-healing topcoat, a shock-absorbing urethane core and a clear, conformable adhesive that disappears over your paint. Both of our films are built this way.

Self-healing topcoat Elastomeric · heals with heat
Urethane core Impact & abrasion barrier
Clear adhesive Conformable · residue-free
What we fit

TPU

  • MaterialThermoplastic polyurethane — elastic, chemically stable, built to stay clear.
  • TopcoatSelf-healing. Light swirls and wash marks close up with heat.
  • FL sunFormulated with UV stabilisers for sustained sun and heat exposure.
  • RemovalLifts in sheets years later, leaving the factory paint intact.
  • WarrantyA named manufacturer, published terms, a claim process that exists.
What we turn away

TPH

  • MaterialA hybrid film, largely PVC-based, engineered down to a price point.
  • TopcoatLittle or no true self-healing. Wash marks stay where they land.
  • FL sunPlasticisers break down under sustained UV and heat: hazing, edge lift and an amber cast over the paint, commonly inside 6 to 18 months in this climate.
  • RemovalTends to shatter and tear, and can take adhesive residue or clear coat with it.
  • WarrantyOften an unnamed import with no maker to send a claim to.

On day one the two look identical on the car. The difference shows up in a Florida summer, on your paint, at your cost — and by then the shop that fitted it has usually moved on. So we do not quote a film we would not warrant. If a quote anywhere does not name the film and the warranty term, it is not a quote, it is a guess. Ours are named line by line on the pricing page.

What is actually covered

Two warranties,
in writing.

One covers the film. One covers our work. They are separate documents and they come from separate places.

10YR MAX

Manufacturer film warranty

Written by 3M or NAR on their own product, for up to ten years depending on the film and the coverage. It covers the film itself failing as a material.

  • Yellowing and discolouration
  • Cracking, blistering and bubbling
  • Delamination from the paint
1YEAR

SERRES installation warranty

Ours, on our work, for a year from collection. If the install moves, we put it right — bring the car back and we refit the affected panel.

  • Lifting or peeling edges
  • Debris trapped under the film at install
  • Misalignment and seam placement

Frequently asked questions

Straight
answers.

What the two films are, what separates them, and what the paperwork behind them is worth.

Which paint protection films do you actually install?

Two, and both are named on every quote. Signature is 3M Scotchgard Pro Series 200 - 3M flagship PPF, up to 10-yr 3M warranty. Essential is NAR H190 PPF - Self-healing 7.5-mil TPU, 10-yr film warranty. Both are self-healing TPU and both go on to the same protocol, in the same bay, by the same installer.

Is NAR a worse film than 3M?

It is a different price, not a different class of film. Both are self-healing TPU with a manufacturer warranty behind them. Full Front is $1,900 in NAR against $2,150 in 3M, and that difference comes off your invoice rather than into our margin. “From” pricing = real price for a standard sedan in good condition — no bait pricing.

Why will you not fit a cheaper film?

Because we would be the ones refitting it. Budget paint protection film is usually TPH, a hybrid material engineered down to a price rather than the TPU both of our films are made from. Under sustained Florida sun and heat that category is reported to haze, lift at the edges and turn amber within roughly 6 to 18 months, and there is rarely a manufacturer left standing behind the warranty.

What does the warranty actually cover?

Manufacturer film warranty (up to 10 years) + 1-year Serres installation warranty. The manufacturer warranty covers the film itself against defects such as yellowing, cracking and delamination, under that manufacturer's own published terms. The SERRES installation warranty covers our work for a year: lifting edges, trapped debris, alignment. Bring the car back and we refit the affected panel.
